About Us
The Heartland Team & Story
OUR VALUES
Here at Heartland Software Solutions, we believe in strong values.
Integrity
We strive to do what we say we are going to do – in meeting deadlines, budget, and functionality. Where we cannot, we will tell you in advance. We will also be clear on our abilities, strengths, and skill sets.
Quality
We develop testing modules to improve quality of our product, and will react quickly to address bugs or assumptions in products we develop for you.
Confidentiality
Team members have had training on handling confidential data, protected data, and in the past have had SECRET security clearance.
On-time Delivery
We will not over-commit to projects to get your work. We are looking to build long-term relationships with clients and customers, and that includes turning away work to meet your deadlines, wherever possible. In instances where unforeseen circumstances impact deadlines, you will be the first to be informed, so we can mitigate and move forward in a positive manner.
Our Story
Heartland Software was formed in 2004 by Dr. Robert Bryce, shortly after completing his Ph.D., to fill a need in ethical, efficient, and robust software development for the wildfire industry. His prior academic experience and training were sufficient for the Prometheus project development team to seek and suggest to Robert to start his own company to serve their needs. The Prometheus project evolved and matured, and other projects arose, such as W.I.S.E and REDApp.
The project management teams for these projects have continued to use Heartland Software for these needs, and Bryce was able to begin to expand the company into new directions. Heartland Software proceeded to carve out a niche for development of software that many other firms could not undertake, specifically: engineering software, scientific software requiring high performance, solutions needing the power and reliability of distributed computing, and software that was reliable enough to withstand the rigor of external audits. To date, Heartland has developed and maintained strong relationships with their clientele, who continue to place trust in this team.
